Being one of the automobile brands by the General Motors Corporation,
Buick carries some of the automobiles produced by the largest vehicle
manufacturer in the world. Buick found a breeding niche in the United
States, Canada and China but targeted South America, Commonwealth of
Independent States, China and the Middle East as marketing places. Some
of the Buick models that were successfully sold and currently selling
are the Buick Apollo, Centurion, Century, Electra, Estate Wagon, Gran
Sport, Invicta, Le Sabre, Park Avenue, Reatta, Regal, Rendezvous,
Riviera, Roadmaster, Skyhawk, Skylark, Somerset, Special, Sportwagon,
Super, Wildcat and the Rainier.
The Buick Rainier is classified as a mid-sized sport utility vehicle
(SUV) or off-roader. SUVs are passenger vehicles that combine the road
hauling and passenger carrying capacity of a large station wagon or a
minivan capable of off-road driving. From the roll of Buick models, the
Buick Rainier is the foremost real truck sold under the Buick marque
although the Buick Rendezvous which adopted the construction technique
of using the external skin of an object to support some or most of the
load on the structure, can also be eligible. The Buick Rainier is also
the first to use the automobile construction technique of mounting a
separate body to a rigid frame to support the drivetrain, coupled with
the use of V8 engine as its powerhouse since the coming up of the 1996
Roadmaster.
And though the Buick Rainier offers only a 5-passenger body style, it
qualified to be the sole GMT360 truck to showcase the power of a V8
engine in this said configuration. The Buick Rainier is available as
rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models. With the addition of the
upscale CXL trim, a better Bose stereo and XM Satellite Radio were
realized. Though the Buick Rainier only started in the year 2004, it
definitely has a long way to go.
