Cadillac introduced the Catera, a mid-sized automobile that was based
on the 1994 model Opel Omega in 1996. It was marketed in North America
as an entry-level Cadillac, though it had softened suspension settings
compared to the original Opel.
This vehicle was produced with one goal, to appeal to the
sport-oriented consumer who go for smooth handling and superb
performance. Luckily, this appears to have worked because the Cadillac
Catera has achieved conquest rates of about 40 percent since its
introduction.
Up to this date, the Cadillac Catera remains true to its heritage. It
is still a good sport sedan. Yes, it is an American car, but you can
feel the European heritage in it, the Catera seats for instance. They
are American in one aspect but they are European in their capacity to
deliver comfort.
To compete with its competitors, the Catera comes equipped with
outstanding features and amenities that is truly satisfying. Its power
came from a 200 hp 54° L81 V6 to the rear wheels. The Catera's
suspension is fairly straightforward.
Another great thing about the Cadillac Catera is the addition of vented
rear disc brakes that contributes to enhanced braking performance. They
can last longer and can hold up better under stressful braking
conditions.
When it comes to safety facilities, the Catera will offer its countless
and dependable amenities. It has theft deterrent system, programmable
power locks, a complete lighting system, three-point safety belts for
all five-seating positions, seat-mounted side imapct and front airbags
and a whole lot more. The Catera is really a nice addition to the
Cadillac line. If you were to describe the Catera, you'll run out of
words.
