Long before the luxury cars of this day and age came into the
limelight, it was the luxury vehicle called the Cadillac which was
considered the standard. Almost everyone wanted a piece of the vehicle
known as the “most luxurious automobile on the highway”. The interior
and exterior design as well as all the parts of the vehicle were more
than a blessing for those who loved it. This particular vehicle was the
one which people preferred over all else for more than 50 years.
The ever-increasing demand of customers
for high-quality luxury vehicles like Cadillac was perhaps the reason
why Cadillac created the Cadillac Series Fleetwood. It was the name
used by Cadillac to denote a group of special luxury vehicles that they
produced. The Cadillac Series Fleetwood, or the Sixty Special
Fleetwood, was considered as having the best Cadillac design ever. The
non-limousine style Sixty Special Fleetwoods carried the Sixty Special
designation in script below the Cadillac crest on the sides of the
front fenders.
Convenience options that the Sixty Special
models possessed included air conditioning, white sidewall tires,
automatic headlamp dimmer, heating and ventilation system, power window
lifts and two-way posture power seats. These classic luxury cars also
boasted of beautifully styled exteriors that created an air of elegance
present in no other vehicle in existence. With this quality intact,
each and every model that belonged to the Sixty Special group is a
genuine, authentic Cadillac. All of these cars embodied the term
“luxury” in the true sense of the word.
