Cadillac Seville
The Seville is Cadillac's entry to the premium mid-size car segment. The
production ran from 1975 to 2004 that was divided into five amazing
generations of Seville's presence in the market. It is responsive,
fast, luxurious, stylish, and stable. The Seville SLS's power comes
from the 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine that is capable of producing 275
horsepower, while the STS, the most powerful front wheel drive cars on
the market houses the same V8 engine which is rated at 300 horsepower.
Seville rode on the 112.2 inches wheelbase with the overall length
stretching at 201 inches. It carries Goodyear Eagle LS tires, fog
lights, and top-notch interior upholstery with perforated leather,
14-way power seats, and lots and lots of memory-function instruments
and equipments.
With the rising popularity of European luxury vehicles such as
BMW and Mercedes Benz in the United States in the seventies, Cadillac
was forced to answer back with their own version of luxury vehicle,
thus the release of the Cadillac Seville. Upon its release, “American
luxury” vehicle means big. But the steep climb of smaller European cars
prompted the re-definition of the term American luxury vehicle that was
started by the Cadillac Seville.
The first Seville was offered in 4-door sedan in “K-body” which was the
same platform used for all the Seville in the future. Engines changed
throughout the generation; the largest was the 6.0 L Cadillac V8 which
was offered from 1980 -1985. The last Seville went out of the
production line in 2003. The model was formally discontinues in 2004
when it was replaced by the Cadillac STS the same year.
