Another from General Motors lineup of vehicles, the Chevrolet Colorado
is a compact pickup truck which replaced the Chevrolet S10 and GMC
Sonoma. Wonder why? The Chevrolet Colorado provides great features that
the S10 doesn’t have. The Colorado’s cabin has more room compared to
the S10. Three-across seating is possible in the rear seat but then,
the two-cross is reasonable enough. You’ll feel comfortable with the
plenty spacious front seats and the passenger’s legroom is not crowded
as it was in the Chevy S10.
The Chevrolet Colorado is
available in regular, extended and crew-cab models. The crew cab with
full-size back doors is likely to be one of the sought-after models.
But one thing is great, though the Colorado is larger than the S10, it
is still small enough to offer more maneuverability and better gas
mileage than that of a full-size truck. And as expected, the Chevrolet
Colorado comes in two-wheel and four-wheel drive. In the
two-wheel-drive models, the traction control is optional and a locking
rear differential is offered across the model line as well.
The overall look of Colorado is evidently Chevrolet. Its bold front is
punctuated by a broad chrome bar and huge headlights to ensure safety.
When it comes to the style and design of this vehicle, the gigantic,
angular plastic fender flares adds accent to the wheels: the short
package has 17-inch wheels, while 15 inches on the standard wheels.
To add up to the Colorado amazing features, two Vortec engines have
been designed for superior driving performance. The base engine is a
2.8-liter four-cylinder with 175 horsepower, and a 3.5-liter, inline
five-cylinder with 220 horsepower. These two engines are aluminum and
shares 75% of their content with the Vortec 4200. With this engine, you
know that the Chevrolet Colorado has the capability of towing 4,000
pounds when equipped with the 3.73 rear axle ratio. The Colorado is
really just perfect for folks who are likely to pull a small pop-up
camper, watercraft or motorcycle trailer.
