With so much pride, Chevrolet, one of today’s leading automobile
manufacturers never ceases to come up with numerous notable quality
cars like the Chevrolet Tracker since 1911. For the year 1998, the
Tracker model was removed by the General Motors from under the Geo
brand to be that of the Chevrolet banner. The Tracker is a redesigned
version of the Suzuki design and now Chevrolet’s smallest SUV or Sport
Utility Vehicle. The Chevy Tracker has real SUV capability yet
remains manageable as it comes handy as to the size and prize. Initially, the
Tracker was offered as a two-door convertible and a four-door wagon,
and both were appreciated by car lovers and experts.
For half a decade of continuous production, innovation is what
the Chevrolet Tracker went through. From being boxy-shaped cars to
being transformed to a rounded, aerodynamic-contoured shape cars while
retaining the separate body-on-frame construction. Though the wheelbase
was unaltered, some measurements were increased. For the first year,
the Tracker had an unnoticeable change except for the Hang Ten Edition
appearance option and some features. The subsequent year gave the
Tracker additional engine options, some optional and new standard
features. The same changes were offered by the following years.
Talking about the Chevy Tracker powertrain and ability can give you an
idea what it can offer. The early Chevy Trackers have two four-cylinder
engines, an overhead cam, 1.6- liter four giving 97 horsepower for the
convertibles, while the wagons were equipped with a standard 127
horsepower, dual overhead cam, 2.0-liter engine. Available transmission
for large engine Trackers is either a 5-speed manual shift or a 4-speed
automatic, and on the other hand, the 1.6-liter engine Trackers has
only the manual gearbox!
To sum up what a Chevy Tracker is all about will give you the concept
of an all in one vehicle that suits the wide range of your needs both
in road and off-road, including the ability to haul fairly small loads.
Its performance is beyond what you can think of!
