The revival of a classic vehicle's name to be used on a new vehicle model may bring only one of two things: satisfaction or disappointment. Satisfaction arises when the new model equals or surpasses the luxuriousness and performance of the classic vehicle. But if the opposite is true and the new vehicle rates poorly against the older vehicle, disappointment should be expected. As for the new Chrysler 300, it brought more satisfaction than disappointment for the lovers of the classic Chrysler 300 vehicles.

The Chrysler 300 name first surfaced in 1955, named by Chrysler for a limited edition of high performance luxury sedans. The "300" in the name of the sedan stands for the power outputted by the vehicle's engine, which was initially rated at 300 hp. Actually, the car was the first American production car to top 300 horsepower and was also the car that reawakened the American vehicle buyers' interest in performance vehicles. A coupe version of the vehicle was also available, and was descriptively named as the Chrysler 300C, with the "C" standing for coupe.

In succeeding years until 1965, limited numbers of the Chrysler 300 were continuously manufactured, with each year model featuring an improvement in performance and luxuriousness and minor changes in style. The year models were also named in letter series, beginning with the Chrysler 300B in 1956 until the Chrysler 300L in 1965, which was also the last Chrysler 300 letter series car manufactured. From 1962 until about 1971, Chrysler also manufactured at large plain Chrysler 300 cars, although the said vehicles were not as luxurious and as loved as the limited edition Chrysler 300 vehicles.

In 1998, Chrysler re-introduced the Chrysler 300 name when they released the Chrysler 300M for the 1999 model year. While the vehicle was entirely different compared to the classic Chrysler 300, Chrysler nonetheless continued to name it as part of the Chrysler 300 letter series by suffixing it with the letter M. Like the classic Chrysler 300's, the new breed of Chrysler 300 vehicles also attracted a lot of attention. In fact, the vehicle was Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 1999, a feat further strengthened when the redesigned 2005 model of the vehicle was also bestowed the same title.

If there is one thing that unites the classic and the new Chrysler 300, it is the parts they are equipped with. Chrysler 300 parts, both for the classic and the recent models, are of premium quality, allowing these cars to perform at their best at all times.
