The Chrysler Corporation is just one of the few automobile manufacturers that
have a rich and exciting heritage. It was formed by Walter Percy Chrysler in the
year 1885 and stood as an independent car maker until it faced some financial
difficulties that resulted to its merging with the Daimler-Benz in 1998. Such
merger gave way to the Chryslers Corporation's current name as DaimlerChrysler.
Most Chrysler vehicles are known to be qualified under the relatively expensive
classification of automobiles known as the luxury cars. These cars exhibits more
emphasis on comfort, appearance, and amenities over performance, economy or utility
as exhibited by sports cars, economy cars, and utility vehicles.
Some of Chrysler vehicles were long phased out, while some are still being produced.
There are also models which replaced the others and some are just recently made.
Some are just the upgraded versions of the previously existing models. Say the
Chrysler Grand Voyager is just a longer Chrysler Voyager in terms of wheelbase
but remained to be in conformity with the Chrysler S platform. A Chrysler S platform
or sometimes called S-body is a minivan platform that followed that Chrysler K
platform.
In European countries, the full-sized passenger van which can accommodate as
much as 12 occupants Plymouth Voyager is being called as the Chrysler Voyager
or Grand Voyager as the case may be. If you get to notice some interrelations
between the Plymouth, Dodge and Chrysler when the Voyager or Grand Voyager or
minivan is being talked about, then you must have an absolute grip of its importance
with one another. These three brands sold over 11 million units as of the first
half of 2005.
