Dodge Dart

Built by Dodge Motors, the Dodge Dart was introduced in the automotive industry
in the year 1960 to join the ever-growing compact market as Dodge’s entry level.
It became the lower-priced, full-sized model of Dodge in its 1960/1961 model lineup;
the Dart has shorter wheelbase. In the 1962 model, Dodge Dart became a mid-size
car and was reintroduced in 1963 as a real compact car. It then became a family
of compact cars from the 1963 model to 1976. As an evolving model, Dodge Dart
and its trim models got innovations and included features and equipments enough
to please their target markets; trim models of the Dart includes the Demon, the
Swinger, the Dodge Sport and the Dart GTS.
The Dodge Dart was available with engines that range from the Chrysler Slant
6 engine to the big-block 383 B engine. In the 1969 model, the Dart was available
with the 440 RB engine; models such as the Dart GTS, 426 Hemi models and the Hurst
edition got the engine addition. The year 1976 was the last year for the Dart
GTS model and the 360 engine was detuned. Up to the present, Dodge Dart was among
those vehicles considered as great car and many still love to drive them around.
