Exhaust
Vehicles possess two exactly opposite qualities. One is being useful, friendly,
and attractive. The other one is being destructive and to some extent, being lethal.
The reason for owning a car may vary according to the person. Cars may
either be for necessity, convenience or freedom; or for luxury or pleasure. Their
reason for purchase may vary but definitely every vehicle buyer sets interest
on the engine. First and foremost, knowledge about the engine and how it works
is essential in every driving endeavor. Modern engines and the rest of the engine
complexity systems involve emission control systems that further require electronic
monitoring and adjustment of engine performance to determine the input and output
of the vehicle under different operating conditions.
Everyone is aware of the pollution the environment is currently suffering from.
The more
cars operating in a community increases the chance of pollution. Looking closely
at this case creates the realization that the pollution brought about by the vehicle
exhausts threatens those innocent souls who inhale them as well as the environment itself.
Clearly enough though, the number of vehicles continues to escalate despite the
government efforts of antipollution measures and required devices. For one, the
United States and Canada are faced with the dilemma of hazardous exhausts mainly
because of the reason that car nowadays are becoming bigger. Also, pickup trucks,
vans, and sports vehicles are now produced to replace smaller and lighter passenger
cars.
The exhaust produced by all combustion engines deliberately produces adverse
effects both on the health of car users and the plain bystanders. Toxic chemicals
hence become the finished products caused by the unrestrained use of burning fossil
fuels among the stream of vehicles lining up and winding up the roads. Cars not
only produce deaths by road mishaps. Most importantly, car exhausts produce adverse
health effects which are nonetheless all pervasive, difficult to measure, and
sometimes too late to get noticed because the symptoms do not surface not until
in its maturity stage.
It is indeed good news that late model cars feature good working exhaust systems.
The exhaust system involves tubing and other necessary components that help out
move the engine’s waste products thereby turning them into more useful and less
hazardous ones. Modern vehicle designs feature exhaust systems containing one
or two exhaust manifolds, a catalytic converter, and one or two mufflers. With
this beneficial part, risks are lessened and the operation of the engine under
the hood is guaranteed to be producing good outputs.
