The Ford Mainline was the base model below the Ford Customline and the
Ford Fairlane. It was offered as a 2-dr sedan and was available from
the year 1952 to 1956 only, yet during these times, they are
sough-after because they are sleek looking. The Ford Mainline is
similar to the Ford Customline for they are perfect “starter” car for
an amateur driver. The Ford Mainline model is small enough to park in a
parking space without breaking a sweat yet can still accommodate five
adults comfortably. If you are into the market for an inexpensive car
that will stand out, then look no further, the Ford Mainline is just
perfect for you.
This car was made possible because Ford wanted to offer a completely
redesigned body for its cars in 1952. The new body featured a one-piece
curved windshield, a full-width rear window, protruding round parking
lights and a round three-bladed spinner mounted at the center of the
grille bar. And this was the beginning of the Ford Mainline as Ford
entry-model for 1952. Though it was known to be the base model of the
Customline and the Fairlane, there are still other features of it that
is unique. It is equipped with the 6cyl engine, 3sp; its power is 101.0
hp at 3,500.0 rpm. Plus it is outfitted with original wheel covers and
wide whitewall tires.
The most striking thing about the Ford Mainline is its engine, Ford
ensures that every Ford model’s engine is flexible, which means that it
can operate in ethanol, gasoline, or any combination of the two fuels
inside the same tank. The spacious interior awaits occupants, providing
comfortable seats and other amenities which will give you the ease
while driving. Its safety features are beyond compare, it includes the
airbags, safety belts, standard anti-lock brakes and many others.
