Looking back at the root of GMC pickups, we would come upon the company
with which some of the earliest commercial trucks were designed, the
Rapid Motor Vehicle Motor Company. It was purchased by GM and became
the basis of General Motors Truck Company. Since then the GMC Truck
marque emerged popular. Soon the company expanded in producing other
platforms of its own concept in order to become a global car brand
under the GM Corp. with the name which we know now as GMC.
In the improvement of GMC trucks, the company developed the Sierra.
It’s the full size pickup with a name derived from the Spanish term for
mountain range with a meaning “saw”. To prove its worth of possessing
such captivating name, the engineers poured their intensive thoughts to
further define its power, performance and look, and apparently make it
shine among others. Constantly, the Sierra received upgrades, making
all its trims competitive with other pickup trucks under GMC‘s rivals.
Today, GMC Sierra Pickups is attached with he label “Best Buy”.
After years of development, GMC Sierra reached the level of best
rated automobiles. Its latest edition, the 2005 Sierra lineup is
comprised of Sierra 1500 Series, Sierra Denali, Sierra 1500HD, Sierra
2500HD and Sierra 3500. They are being run by six different engines
built to inject impressive power and performance, the 4300 V6, 4800 V8,
5300 V8, 600 V8, .8100 V8, and Duramax diesel 6600 V8. These engines
are engineered for specific applications just like the transaxles. The
4-speed electronically controlled with overdrive and tow or haul mode
automatic transmission can be equipped in all Sierra Pickups except
those regular cab models, for the 5-speed manual with overdrive is the
one designed.
The Sierra 1500 Series which is also available in Hybrid model, the
Sierra 1500HD crew cab, the refined Sierra Denali that shows superior
performance, the sierra 2500HD created to carry heavy duty jobs, and
the Sierra 3500 which is a reflection of true strength all run to bring
GMC another heritage and put its name to the height of respect.
