The Infiniti M45 is designed to fill the clear gap between its flagship sedan, the Q45, and its smaller cars. It is also one of the moves to revitalize and pump up Nissan. The 2003 Infiniti M45 was reported have poor sales but that wasn't enough reason for the company to give up this model. Instead, Nissan redesigned and produced an all-new Infiniti M45.
Nearly identical to its smaller hot-selling sibling, the G35, this new Infiniti M45 shows a shift from the company's old design to an attractive and stylish machine. The previous M45 released in 2003 was a modified version of the Japanese Cedric/Gloria large sedan. But this new model shows great improvement. Though it shares much of the FM platform utilized by other Nissan models especially the G35, sixty percent of its platform components are said to be new. And it was named Infiniti M, with M45 as one of its models.
The M45 is now powered by a V-8 engine producing 335-horsepower. The M45 Sport is also offered as the V8 version of the M35 Sport. The available option packages are the journey package, the technology package and the premium package. Along with the performance boost and the enhancements in the M45's appearance is the car's safety that has also been improved. Among the safety features that come standard in Infiniti M45 are Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) including front and rear side curtain, front seat mounted airbags and dual stage driver and front passenger seat airbags; traction control; ABS and Brake Assist; Electronic brake-force distribution and other safety equipments.
