Though Kia, a South Korean car manufacturer has become well-known in the United States in producing sporty Sport Utility Vehicle, the subcompact Sephia was offered on the market first. The Kia Sephia which was known as the Mentor in some markets was a family car manufactured by Kia debuted in Korea in 1992, and in late 1993, an export edition began trickling into the United States.
