All vehicles are composed of a body shell that is fairly complex assortment of large steel sections. The said sections have been stamped into specific shapes which make up the body of your Mazda vehicle. They include the frame or the chassis which provides the structure for the Mazda body, as well a good anchor point for the suspension system, the floor pan that is located at the bottom of the car assembly and serves as the foundation of the body shell, the firewall and “A” pillars which goes up both sides of the dashboard and stops where it meets the roof panel. These parts are crafted to do many jobs; to protect the occupants during collisions and to provide solid amounts for all other systems.
There are also the rear quarter panels which is the body skin that runs from the rearmost parts of the rear door edge, around the back and to the rear door on the other side of the vehicle, the bumpers that are made of heavy sheet metal and are mounted on the front and rear of the car which helps to absorb some of the impact in the event of collisions, and the hood which is considered another type of door. The Mazda hood is an opening body panel in front of the cowl which covers the engine in a front-engine vehicle.
In UK, the hood is called “bonnet”. Like the car’s door and the rear quarter panels, the car’s hood is also composed of an outer panel and an inner panel. The inner panel gives strength while the outer panel is just a metal cover, or “skin”. Usually, the underside of the hood is covered with a sound-absorbing material. On some high performance cars, they gave the hood scoops or the opening in the hood which allows air to flow directly across the engine for it to breathe easier.
