The energy needed by the components making up your
car to carry out its tasks in securing efficient performance is given
by the fuel and air mixture supplied by the car’s power train. The
mixture is not just a mere combination of fuel and air. It goes through
several processes to guarantee that the parts are supplied with the
right and balance amount. The oxygen sensor of the car is the auto part
responsible for balancing the oxygen content in the mixture.
To facilitate the responsive functioning of the
engine is also one of the duties that an oxygen sensor must carry out.
Through the oxygen sensor, the harmful exhaust that must be disposed in
the atmosphere is minimized. Harmful nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide
and unburned hydrocarbons are the components commonly comprising the
exhaust emitted by cars and other driving machines.
Cars used for tough driving conditions such as off road driving must be
equipped with durable and efficient oxygen sensor or O2 especially if
the power used by the car is coming from fuel injected engines. Its
position may depend on the car make or model but most cars have it
installed in the exhaust manifold with the turbo and catalytic
converter on the sides. The differential between the oxygen content of
the exhaust gas and the air comprises the generated voltage.
Reduction of harmful exhaust is done by
adjusting the amount of oxygen content in the fuel and air mixture to
be processed. The needed step to be done is performed by the ECM which
may include adjustment of the fuel grade, change of the altitude of the
amount of oxygen to be generated and transported to the other auto
parts comprising the car.
Good quality O2 can boost the handling dynamics
and performance of the car. Defective oxygen sensors must be replaced
in case repair cannot check or correct the damage. The market has
several arrays of replacement which may include the reliable and
durable Mercedes oxygen sensor.
