Oldsmobile Curved Dash, Limited Touring, 40, 53, 66, 88, 98, Series 60, Series
70, Series 90, 442, Cutlass, Cutlass Supreme, Cutlass Calais, Cutlass Ciera, Custom
Cruiser, Toronado, Starfire, Firenza, Achieva, Alero, Aurora, Bravada, Intrigue,
Silhouette and F-85 are just some of the models exhibited by the Oldsmobile, the
oldest surviving American automobile marque and one of the oldest in the world
following the Daimler and Peugeot. Oldsmobile dominated the automotive industry
during its 107 years stay in the business producing more or less 35.2 million
car units including at least 14 million built at it Lansing factory.
Though Oldsmobile brand stopped producing automobiles last 2004, the legacy it
left will forever by remembered by those who adhered and believed in the quality,
style and performance including loads of features for safety, comfort and convenience
of Oldsmobile cars. Each of the Oldsmobile models carries distinctive sophistication
and refinement known to all Oldsmobile products and separates them with other
car makes and models. Aside from these, Oldsmobile cars are celebrated for their
unmatched "firsts" such as the first American car with an automatic transmission,
the first to use chrome and frequently were early with other features like the
first one to have automatic headlight dimmers.
The Oldsmobile F-85 came in two-door and four-door sedan and in four-door station
wagon styles. It used the new Oldsmobile or Buick Rockette aluminum 215 cubic
inches, V8 engine with a bore of 3.5 inches and a stroke of 2.8 inches generating
a power output of 155 hp and 210 ft. lb. torque. It also has a Rochester 2-barrel
carburetor. The F-85 is a compact version of the Oldsmobile Cutlass. The Cutlass
is a type of automobile made by General motors and was introduced in 1961 as a
unibody compact car competing with the Ford Falcon and Plymouth Valiant.
