General Motors, as the world’s largest automaker invests great things as well as ideas, time and dedication to create superior quality products and cars that can keep up with the advances. And through its battle against its own flaws and imperfections, GM manufactured best lines of vehicles, succeeded in most of its innovations, achieved recognitions and prestigious awards, until it reached every country across the horizon and earned its great name today.
Upon its trip in the tough world of car business Pontiac, a division of GM that carries a respected marque is marketed within the United States, Canada and Mexico. This division concentrates in integrating youthful sense of advertising in order to keep up with high level units, though it’s just a mid-level brand. One of its innovations is the Pontiac Astre, a platform that drives with the Indian arrow-head logo, another vehicle embedded under the great name of its maker.
Astre is the Pontiac version of the Chevrolet Vega, a compact car that lies between the body size of midsize car and subcompact vehicle. Pontiac Astres were equipped with 2.3-liter SOHC engine. This powertrain is a 1971-1977 creation of the General Motors Corporation. And like all other Pontiacs such as the Bonneville and Firebird, Astre was also endowed with great items made to make it look more appealing and perform more satisfying as a car in such class. Aside from its engines and transmissions, its wheels, radiators, electrical systems as well as exterior and interior molding were designed to compliment each other, and of course used more improved technological innovations by those times.
After Pontiac Astre finally discontinued in production, Pontiac expanded on making other platforms that would bring more prestige not only to its division but also to GM. Today, we can say that Pontiac has endured the test of time. It is now internationally popular, proudly presenting latest innovations.
