Unconventional but pleasant to look at, and maybe more than just that—that is the Pontiac Vibe, a short and rather tall station wagon produced and sold by the Pontiac division of the General Motors Corporation in partnership with Japanese auto manufacturing giant Toyota. The car was first presented at the North American International Auto Show in 2000 as a concept car. Two years later, the trendy vehicle debuted in the American market as a 2003 model, sold side by side with Toyota’s version of the car named Toyota Matrix.
The Pontiac Vibe is available in three trim levels, with each trim level targeting a specific vehicle market. For those who want to experience the good looks and innovativeness of the car at the lowest possible cost, the Pontiac Vibe base model would be good enough. The base model has basically all that the Vibe has to offer, except for some luxurious interior amenities and a load of safety features, all of which are still available as optional features. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder that gets you running with 130 hp of power. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard while a 4-speed automatic is optional.
Should you want the car to have a sportier feel and performance, then the Pontiac Vibe GT model is the perfect vehicle for you. Gifted with the same innovative Pontiac Vibe parts and good looks, the Pontiac Vibe GT is up to give you a sportier performance with its high-revving engine rated at 173 hp mated with a smooth and responsive 6-speed manual transmission. It also gets more shares of interior amenities and safety features than the base model.
For uneven pavements, the Pontiac Vibe AWD works well. The only Pontiac Vibe model with an all-wheel-drive system, the Pontiac Vibe AWD can surely drive you wherever you want to go. Be warned, however, that the AWD model was not made for off-road driving and it lacks low-range gearing. But aside from these, the AWD model should be perfect for slightly ragged terrains. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter I4 engine rated at 123 hp and paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission unit.
Base, GT, AWD—whichever you like, Pontiac Vibe dealers surely have them for you. Equipped with high quality Pontiac Vibe parts, you should have no problem with them. But should you need to replace any of their parts, the Internet is always there for your convenience.
