Subaru Loyale

After the long production run of the GL and DL, Subaru decided to drop the models and change it to Subaru Loyale in the nineties. Though the name changes, it still possessed virtually the same image of its predecessors. The model also has big similarities in terms of overall image as compared with the GL-10 with the only notable difference in the engine (the Loyale had fuel injection instead of the usual carburetor). The Loyale kept Subaru enthusiasts stuck to the brand with its economical maintenance it showcased.

During the first year of Loyale’s production, two body styles were offered: the sedan and the wagon, while the 2-door coupe was presented only in a more sporty RS trim. The loyale was with two engine options: a 90-horsepower 1.8-liter flat 4 and a 115-horsepower turbocharged version of the flat 4. Both came in a 5-speed manual transmission with an optional 3-speed automatic. The turbo models are equipped with 4-wheel drive provided with a 4-speed automatic in stead of the 5-speed manual. The Loyale wagon and sedan were available with either on front-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. A choice of either an on-demand or permanently engaged 4WD were made available for both body style.

The Subaru Loyale provides a very competitive choice for style and comfort. The independent suspension system gives a very smooth ride and comfort for both the engine and the passenger.
