Many of us today can still enjoy the same comfort
levels that we are used to at home and at work. That is because of our
car’s air conditioning system. With just a push of a button or a slide
of a lever, we can make the seamless transition from heating to cooling
and back again.
Vehicles are found to have primarily three different types of A/C
systems. Although each of the three differs in kinds, the concept and
design are very similar to one another. However, your car air
conditioning system will not work at its best if it’s not equipped with
high-quality air conditioning parts. One of the integral parts of your
Volvo air conditioning system is the Volvo A/C compressor.
In a human’s circulatory system, the heart sends the oxygen-rich blood to
every cell in the body. Blood flows continuously through the
circulatory system, and the heart muscle is the pump which makes it all
possible. In your Volvo A/C system, the Volvo A/C compressor plays the
role similar to heart muscle.
The A/C compressor is a type of pump that is driven by a belt connected
to the vehicle’s engine. The A/C compressor receives the Freon in a
gas-like state and compresses it into liquid and pumps the refrigerant
to the compressor and beyond. The compressed Freon is pushed through
the system under pressure and is passed through different sized metal
and rubber hoses and a valve causing the gas to expand and contract.
This expansion and contraction makes the Freon gas very cold. This cold
gas makes its way through the metal lines into the dash area of your
automobile to the evaporator core. Then, a small fan sits in front of
the evaporator core and blows air across this cold evaporator and
through the vents inside your vehicle. This process makes you and your
passengers comfortable while inside your vehicle.
