Headlights have been one of the most important automotive parts when your eyes cannot function anymore in the absence of light during night time and precipitation. When you can no longer see where you are heading for during these low visibility periods, headlights are tasked to perform especial function and that is to provide illumination for the road ahead of you.
Headlights are lighting device installed at the front of a vehicle. Modern headlights are called electric floodlights and they are positioned in pairs usually having one on each side of a grille of moving vehicle. A headlight is a combination of multiple lamps and reflectors that can be switched between two configurations to which are the high beam and the low beam. High beams cast more light at a higher angle to let the driver have a further visual capacity as compared to low beams which cast lesser light and at a lower angle to enable the driver see more clearly the immediate space in front of him.
High beams are a bit disadvantageous and risky because it can possibly blind the drivers of oncoming vehicles by exposing him to high focus of light loosing his vision for some time thus drawing him to a possible accident. It this event, it is recommended and standard in the ABCs of driving that you should only use high beams in highways and when there is no immediate oncoming vehicle, but when a vehicle is already nearing you, you should switch your headlight to low beam and resume to high beam when it already passed by.
Since Volvo vehicles are known for its undeniably strong devotion to safety standards, Volvo headlights are also expected to be of high quality when performing its purpose of delivering reliable illuminating functions. Volvo headlights are made to perform just like other Volvo automotive parts.
